Default new all around

I just got my first 4x4 atv for christmas and had a few questions about it. I got what the guy said was an 05 artic cat 375 automatic with 900 miles on it. I am planing on using it for mudding and not much more he says it has a new carb and battery on it. Was this a good buy or not and what are the peoblems I can expect out of it

what did you pay? Typically a good mud bike would be a 500 or bigger, since most of the time you put larger tires on it. Does this bike have a locking differential on it,just curious? the 375 is an air/oil cooled atv i believe so make sure the oil cooler doesn't get too dirty with mud or it may get over heated. I think it will be ok though. The 375 was a good bike so i dont think you should have any real bad issues with it. if you do put bigger tires on it make sure to use low range in the mud so you dont burn the belt up.

no it does not have a locking dif i was wondering if it was posible to put one in it. my buddys girlfriend who got me in to atv's has a 360 parie with one and it helps on it a lot. Where is a good place to get lifts and tires for this bike? Also it tops out at 35 is this normal or is something messed up with it?

Its possible but alot of new parts and money for locking diff. these atvs will fit 28" tire without a lift(thats what i have, and i would not recommend it on the 375,you will loose alot of power). High lifter sells lifts and other accessories, gorilla axle,or just do a google search for lifts. 35mph?!! it should at minimum do 50-55mph. You sure it wasnt in low range and running 35?

i had it in high range but when i got it it had about a .25 of a tank of gas and then i filled it up on my way home and it is not running right it think it had water in the tank when i got it but i have not had time to drain it yet to see if it was it could that cause it to run that slow? If not what is the most likely thing to break in that trans?

also what is a good set of tires. I know that silver backs are some of the best but i dont want to spend that much on a set of tires right now. I am looking for something that will work good for now cuz here in a year or to i think i will go buy a new 700 mud pro or a honda. To answer your earlier question i paid 1750 for it

a worn out belt, but with only 900 miles i wouldnt think so. depends on how it was ridden. Id put fresh gas and seafoam in the tank and run it for a bit and see it it cleans up,also a new spark plug, and make sure the air filter is clean and oiled(if that filter gets oiled?) this will rule out these 3 simple issues if they are issues at all. Make sure the tank is full all the time when storing it. this will keep condensation(water) out of the gas.

honestly, i have never done it. I would not think too hard. Probably need an impact to get the nut off the pulley though. then id imagine its just a matter of taking the old off and putting the new one on. maybe time consuming.
