Default 04 500 4x4 auto....choke question

i took my carb off to have it cleaned....but instead of unplugging the choke and then unscrewing the housing on the carb, when i took apart i thought it came apart at the carb and took it apart that way.....so the question is will it reassemble okay and function or will I have have to buy a new choke

Is it the manual choke with the choke cable that goes to the handle bars with the slide switch ? If so it should still work after it's put back together correctly !

I'm not sure what year the electric choke/enrichner carb's came out , i have a 2006 Arctic Cat 400 FIS Auto 4x4 with The Suzuki 376cc Engine and Suzuki's Duramatic Belt Driven Clutch it has the Electric Choke/Enrichner Carb ; the electric choke carb doesn't have a cable only a little lever mounted on the carb the lever has a little hole in it to help you feel/locate it without having to lean over and look under the plastic's for it .
You just pump the lever 3 times to prime the carb , i've never had to remove my carb so i don't know the proceedjure for removing it for cleaning ; but i did have to replace all the hard plastic fuel and vent hose with Automotive Goodyear rubber hose and clamps !

The original plastic hose started splitting and spuriting fuel from them , the 2006 model AC 400 , 500 , 650H1 and 650V2's all shared the same size chassis and had the fuel tank's under the rear plastic's and frame ; this eliminated the need for a petcock/fuel shutoff valve for my AC 400 !

I hope this is of some help , goodluck with the reasembly of your carb ; and after you get the job done i would suggest using SeaFoam mixed with your first tank of fuel as it's the best stuff i've found for keeping the fuel system and combustion chamber clear of excessive carbon buildup ! You can find the SeaFoam at any of your local automotive parts stores , if your 500 has the tank mounted up front between the seat and handle bars i would remove the petcock and clean the strainer screens they could be clogged up with debris from this ethonol crap they add in gas at most fuel station's today ; the SeaFoam will also keep your fuel fresh longer !
While you're at the parts store pickup one of the clear fuel filter's and mount it between the petcock and carb this will help keep debris from clogging up your carb again !

Happy trails !

on arctic cat atv with a manual choke if you put in a 102 starter jet you will not need to use the primer as much.
