Did my 100 mile oil change this weekend, what do they put in the oil to make it green? Some sort of additive from the factory maybe?

Mine was just like that too. I believe it is assembly lube. I used some purple stuff on the truck engines I've built. dakotacat, me and some of the other cat riders were going to have a little get together/camp out in april or may on my land down in Edna. I don't know if you are interested but we have plenty of space and supplies if you want to drive and join us. Drop me aline if you are interested.

Arctic Cat oil is green. The only other oil that I know of that is green is Kendal. Honda oil is red.

Thats just the color of arctic cat brand oil. I'm not sure if it's a die they put in it(honda oil is red) or if Niteowl was right when he claimed the synethetic in it made it green. I'm betting they added die in the oil to make it different.

Do you think that is just a marketing thing for brand recognition or what? I worked for Pennzoil for a year in college and we had some funky colored oils there from Pennzoil. Their synthetic blend used to be a super shiny gold mettalic color like the bottles they came in. That would make since now that I know Honda oil is red. Ya never know what the Final Jeopardy question will be someday. Thanks.

Years ago Phillips 66 Royal Triton oil was a very nice purple color. Sort of like the color of a queens robe. I think the colors are just dyes for rememberance gimmicks. each have their own trademark color for that one special oil.

Where do you get the green oil? also, what kind of oil do you guys recommend for your cats? Anyone have any bad dealings with a certain brand or any really good dealings that you would recommend?

The Arctic Cat brand oil you get at the dealer has a green dye in it. That's what I've been using since it was new, but am ready to try something else (too expensive ) It's probably green because that's their sled racing colors

Every 100 miles! That would work out to a oil change after every fill up of gas for me. Is good to change your oil but you are wasting your time and money if your changing it every 100 miles.
When you change your oil you should save it and I'll buy it off you.LOL
