Default 06 artic cat 400 fis

hi, I have a 06 artic cat 400 fis 4x4 that had a shop put a new top end on it a while back, and here the other day it stopped firing, it would crank but no spark, I pulled the spark plug wire off and juust while it was off I cranked it and it fired right awat? I thought that was weird so I put the wire back on the plug and nothing not a fore one? take it off and just set it at the top of the plug and it starts and runs good, I put a new plug in it and it was back to normal rode for about 3-4 hours parked for the night went to do chores the next morn and it fired a few times then nothing again, same crap all over again? any idea what could be going on please? any help appreciated I do a lot of atv and small engine and auto work and ran into the same thing before on a Honda 3 wheeler but I cant remember if we ever found the problem or what? its weird man. thanks for any input

The 400 Suzuki engine found in those had an issue with the magneto's magnets coming unglued, which can cause issues with no spark or spark at the wrong time. Im not sure what year they quit having problems with that, but I would definately check that first. Maybe call your dealer and see if your year model could have that issue. They came out with upgraded magneto's that fixed the issue, but im not sure what year model that happened. Good luck!
