What a day. My friend just got a Polaris 335 so we went and did some riding. For those of you who dont know, i have an AC 300 4x4 with the locking front diff. We didnt have any mud to drive in so some snow coverd tundra had to work. We drove for a mile or so up a trail i am not sure how deep the snow was but i was pushing it with the front of my machine since i was in the lead. What stopped us both was a spot in the trail where we both bottomed out and the tires couldnt get any traction. Once we got turned around we rode back to a dirt pit for some climbing. It is amazing to see what the 4 wheelers can do when all 4 tires are pulling. I would get almost all the way to the top of the dirt pile and the tires would spin out, but in lock it just clawed on up to the top. We did drag race but speed is not anything either one of these machines is noted for. The 335 would beat me off the line but i would catch and pass him at about 30. For the most part it was a even contest. Polaris's 4x4 system is really amazing. Every time the back tires spun the front would lock and away it would go. The only down side i saw for the Polaris was the small tires, 23" tall in the front and 24" in the rear. But they were the Titan 489 so that was a plus.(i have the stock 489's on my AC) Once all this snow is gone we will be running in the mud i cant wait.
