My Cat '99 500 4X4 has a bad headlight. I took the bulb out, and it reads "35W 36.5W".

I read that this is a halogen bulb, but please correct me if I'm wrong.

I see on the internet that there are xenon bulbs with the same base etc.

Would this be an upgrade?
Would there be a heat issue melting the plastic lens?
Is there a better option? LED?
