Well I finally talked my wife into letting me get another ATV. It is going to have to be an auto so she can ride it when we go together. there are 2 deals i have found up here. the first one is a 01 Limited edition. It has a winch, gun boot, and camo covering. It is still in the box and the dealer wants $6,500 for it. The second one is a 00 for $5,800. The dealer said he cant offer anything to go with it since it is a close out. Of course he will sell me a winch for the low price of $400.(ya right) If he wont give me the winch for the $69 can i call AC and see if can get it from them? i am really leaning toward the $5,800 deal because i can get a few more accessories like tires, stick stoppers ect. If anyone has any opinions or ideas please let me know.

Thanks, Rac

I can not offer any input on the pricing of the 2001 Limited Edition, however I can on the pricing of the 2000 500 Auto leftover. I will not say anything negative about the dealer, but I will state what I just paid for my 2001 500AC Auto on 4/5/01. The machine was ordered and picked up on that date as I wanted red, and my dealer only had green in stock.

I paid $6,100 out the door including Pennsylvania's 6% sales tax, title and state registration, and this included the $69.00 winch that the dealer mounted for free.

Arctic Cat has two (2) promos running right now at the same time. The winch promo for $69.00 and a $400.00 rebate program. I called the AC plant and was told that it is the dealer's discretion to allow one or both promos. This is going to differ from dealer to dealer.

As my dealer told me don't worry about the promos, "Worry about the bottom line".
This is my second AC ATV from the same dealer and he took just as good of care of me when I bought a 2000 300AC 4X4.

No hesitation in buying a second Arctic Cat.

Well the only differences I can remeber the 2001 having over the 2000 was: Black wheels, reverse override button, new graphics, and slighy different front racks.

I bought my 2001 AC 500 Auto back in September. I got the camo kit and winch out the door tax and all for $6100. You can go from there.

I paid $5800 for my 2000 auto almost a year ago. I would think it would need to be heavily discounted before I bought a model that was almost two years old! Talk the dealer down or call around.

I bought a 2001 Limited Edition Auto back in November when they first came out. I paid $6350.00 for my machine. From what I've seen on this board that is higher than some. It came with: camo cover-$100.00, scabbard and mount- $100.00, large rack bag- $50.00, 2000 lb warn winch w/roller fairlead- $300.00. When you add those up I still think I did o.k.. I could buy a new Rubicon for $600.00 more than I paid with absolutely no accessories.

Well I made the deal yesterday. I am going to go with the 2001 L.E. The dealer that had the 00 is very set on his prices. He would not drop the price on either the 00 modle or a 01. So I am going to try and get Fri. off and go to Wasilla to pick up the 01 L.E Thanks to every one for all the advice and help.
