Fan motor (need help)

need help with fan motor for a 98 454 how much, or is their an after market fan that would work. the darn thing costs 120bucks just for the motor no fan ouch.

I seem to recall a few weeks back that someone on one of these forums had a similar problem.What they did was pull the fan out and take it into an automotive supply store, there they were able to get a very close match ( as far as size,mounting holes etc).They saved a bundle of money so it might be worth a try .

Be sure it's the motor & not the fuse, which blows on damp ocasions.

I would just get a fan out of Jegs, Summit, or some other car accesory company. They will probaly give you a better fan for less.

Boy can ever relate to this. I had a 98 Arctic Cat 400 that the fan went out on. AC wanted $125 for a new one. I removed it and took it apart to see what was up, the magnets had come unglued. I took it to a guy that re-builds alternator and he re-built my fan for $25 bucks. Works great, lasts a long time. Just somethig to consider.
