Default 2014 Arctic Cat 500 trv ATV Spring Load Adjustment

Anyone have preload suggestions for the springs. I am new to riding. I bought it set at the lowest setting with the most play. I went on a 2 day ride in Maine and all seemed good just didnt know what the suggested or best anyone has found is.

Move them up to a middle setting and see how you like it. You can also try the hardest setting. then you can make your adjustments from their. I think my fronts are set at 1-2 clicks and rears are 3-4 clicks

I think, if you were comfortable riding, leave them where they are. You just want to avoid having too much squat when you sit down, not enough stiffness where you bottom out a lot, or being so stiff that you're in pain every time you ride.

The should be set to utilize the maximum travel for your weight & riding style. They should bottom out only on the largest of bumps for a comfy ride. If you want more aggressive riding and less body roll in the corners...crank them up!

Don't be afraid to play with the settings, just make sure you write down your settings and results...

Especially that last part.....noting your settings!! While you keep trying different settings you will become very confused as to what worked well and what didn't if you don't jot down some notes.

I applaud all of you for the help. I'm somewhat new to riding so the info in ATV connection has been awesome. I did a 2 day ride in Maine with the suspension having the most play. From what I gathered in the links you guys sent was that I need to tighten up the rear a little because it was feeling squirrelly when I was cruising. I didn't bottom out at all and I was on some shale ledges on a mountain so I assume tighten the rear a little and keep the front loose

Make sure to jack up your machine before adjusting. The weight needs to be off the springs or you will break the tabs off the adjusters. Also a shot of lube never hurts
