First and foremost, you should clean the carburetor and blow out all the jets. Make sure the float is set to 17 mm. If you don't have an inline gas filter, should put one on. Of course, while you are there, put in a new spark plug. Carefully inspect the rubber boot between the air box and the carburetor, also the coupling between carburetor and motor, a crack can make it run bad and suck in dirt. Lastly, locate the PMS screw, turn it all the way in clockwise, then back out 1 turn. Keep turning 1/4 turn until it runs the best. I usually have to tweak mine from summer to winter, a bit. When you are riding and it runs perfectly, if it starts to stumble, try switching to reserve, they have a huge reserve, like 2.5 gallons. Those are a rugged ATV, btw.
