cold start

Default cold start

i have a 2016 arctic cat 400 altera that hates to start in the cold whats the best thing i should do to make it easier to start i have battery minder on it all ready but before the bike will start the battery will be dead any ideas

You might try partially restricting some of the air going into the air filter. My AC 700 started hard this morning at -15F, but so did I.

Check the choke/enrichment lever to see that it is working properly and check your spark in the cold to be sure it is getting a good blue spark. Should not be a problem starting when cold if everything is set correctly. My UTV started with no issue the other day at -15...it started much quicker than I did.......

if its carburated .. i dont know wich model atvs are efi or not ...

you could open your pilot screw abit to let more fuel in thats what i did a couple weeks ago starts right away now

check your plug.. if its hard starting in the cold chances are by now you have fouled up the plug
