Fuel tank connecti0ns on 650 V2 2005
My fuel tank vent hose dried and cracked below the seat. It seems to terminate above the handle bars up behind the Gauges. Do i need to disasssemble the guage cover to reconnect the new tube or is it vented to athmosphere?
Also noticed a hose coming off a "T" from hi up the left side of the Carbs at the choke vacuum cover, (Believe it is Item 54 on the exploded carb diagram) that again goes up under the Gauges, Does it connect or is it open to atmosphere?

I believe both vent to atmosphere. I've seen some guys put a tiny fuel filter on , maybe to keep creepy crawlers out? You should check the boot between the carburetor and air box for cracks. I've seen it on 01 and 02 Cats. My mechanic said he had an engine failure on an older Cat, when it sucked water thru a cracked boot.
