Well I just bought myself a quad, the Arctic Cat 2002 500i. I can't wait to get it, the dealer said it should be in around november december timeframe. Thats a long wait but maybe I will get it sooner. I paid $7756 for it, it was the cheapest price of all the dealers in the province. Has anyone else bought one yet? Does anyone have one?

First off, a very "warm" welcome to the "PRIDE". (It's 104 right now outside)-how bad up your way???

Secondly, I don't know of anybody who has the "i" yet-my dealer won't have his till mid-september time frame he thinks. Would very much appreciate a full report when it arrives though, should be an awesome machine!

Best of Luck with the wait, hope it works out great for you!

Mike

First of all, congrats on buying an awesome machine. Just out of curiosity, what colour did you get? I'm thinking red for my one (it'll match my helmet!). That's quite the price you got it for. I saw a dealer here a few weeks ago and asked him what he wanted for a '02 500 ACT 4x4 and he said $8,000. Do you know what the ACT was selling for down your way? Oh yeah, did you get a winch? I'm wondering if AC still has the deal on with the winch like they had last year. Again congrats.

IceCat-
I talked to my dealer yesterday, he said they're giving the 2500 Warn for the $69, instead of the A2000 this year-I'm Jealous!

I think it's good till December, but not positive on that one...

Best of Luck,

Mike

Thanks everyone for the warm invite. I bought the green one but I told the dealer if he can get a red one in sooner then go for it. I also got the warn 2500 lbs winch for $199. I already have 26x10x12 and 26x12x12 outlaws on my Suzuki 500 so those will be going on it as well. I will be buying some ITP chrome and blacks rims with the chrome lug nuts and chrome and black center cap. When I'm done with this quad its going to be something awesome. I also bought the warn accessory winch pack. I will also be getting my self a storage container for the back rack, it molds itself to the rack, its plastic and waterproof. I think I will be getting it in black and green if I get the green quad or the red and black if I get the red quad.

I never asked about the price on the 2002 ACT but he was sure trying to sell me on it.

Just a note on the tires... I'm not positive, but I think I read a thread last week where someone was putting oversized tires on his new AC but there was a problem because the tires touched up against the shocks (Cowboy might know more about this than I). Anyway, it was not too big of a problem because he was able to get spacers or something. I'm not sure if they were 26" tires or not... they might have been larger. Anyway, I just thought I would bring that to your attention.

The tires won't be a problem, he tested them on an ACT, I'm getting an IRS. Plus when I looked at the ACT at the dealership it looked like there wouldn't be any problems with the tires rubbing.

Glad to hear they'll work... I just wanted to pass that on in case you hadn't tested them.

Yes, there was a problem with putting 27x11x12 589s on the back of the 2002 500 manual ACT Arctic Cat that Mudcat bought. The tires would not rub just sitting there, but when the suspension moved side to side the tires rubed the shocks.

Hey Guys;
Sounds like you like your Cats. I don't know much about them but have heard they blow fuses going through water, that they have had clutch bearing problems on their Auto and that they are "tippy". I consider all types before I buy and this is one I should look at,I think. Good Quading!
