I found it surprising to see that the 27" Claws tied the 28" Outlaws for 2nd place in the shootout. 28" Vamps won. I had figured that the Vamps would win the dirtwheels shootout as well earier in the year, but the Outlaws came away with that one. Some tires didn't fare so well. The 28" Dirt Devils didn't do jack. I guess its just a tall all terrain tire. Anyone else look at that article?

Hey Andy, how are ya? How's the Griz doing lately? You guys are lucky out there, I don't even know where to find atv magazines around here-course, we don't have much of anything really. You still running with the sway bar off? Found any negative effects yet? Sorry for all the questions, guess after a 17 hour day working, every day this week, I'm getting a little delerious. Think it's time for bed actually...

Best of Luck to ya, hope everything is going well,

mike

Hey Mike, yeah no sway bar. No ill effects to date. I did take off the claws, and that was a bitch. I had to kick the hell out of the tires to get the wheels off. They are really tight on the bolts for some reason. I rode about 13 miles of rocky crap Tuesday that beat me to death. The stockers ride a lot better, but I probably would have punctured a tire. Nothing bad, just bumpy as can be. The lake is a lot more dry now, and I could almost go to where I got the Cat stuck 2 years ago. This morning was pretty cool. I'll send you an email if I can get my stupid Yahoo to work. Just got DSL and this thing is about 5 times faster now. Too bad I didn't have it Sunday night. I had my live NFL fantasy draft and actually had the first pick. I got screwed though, because my internet went down for 15 minutes and the stupid thing picked half my players for me. Check out that email though. This was pretty neat.
later.

Hey, thanks for the email, that was cool! Went ahead and posted here too, just in case you're DSL isn't set up all the way, your messages get lost. You'll love that DSL line, we've been on it for several months now, works great, tons faster than a regular modem!

Better get to work, Best of Luck,

Mike

I saw it and was surprised to see that my good ole goodyear mudrunners are still in the top running (for the 25" test anyways).

How did the 589's do in that shoot out? I traded a while back and left my 589's on the bike I traded so I'm now back to the 489's. Just wondering how you guys that have the claws like them? I'm thinking about getting some so let me know what size you have on now or what works the best. And I'm looking at buying rims also so any suggestions on after market rims would be helpful.

27" claws are a different ball game than the smaller ones. Quite a difference. 27" are a hell of a mud tire. In the smaller sizes, there are better tires that you could look at. If I was getting a 25 or 26" tire, I wouldn't go with claws.

I gotta say that I was happy with the results of the "claws" getting a rating of 9, I've ridden with friends with laws and I'll pull out of some of the holes that they get buried in, and the have basically the same bike. As for the 28" EDLs they are an awesome tire to see go through the mud with a big cc machine.

Boner, I'm looking at 27" for sure but not sure on width because I'm not sure what kind of rims to get yet. I want to keep my stock rims on the 489's for riding around here in town on paved streets (Local Law Dog lets me ride on the streets in town). I liked the 589's and will probably go back with them in 27" if there is not that much difference in mudding and snow capability in them and the claws or gators or what ever else is out there.
