Hand Warmers
#1
I am looking at some different hand warmers for my ATV. My Arctic Cat has the "Hot Grips" brand and I think the grips really suck. They are too hard for me. I have seen a set in Rocky Mountain ATV for $20 and this set up wraps around the bars and then you slide your grips over the top. My concern is that they won't hold up. The grips will come loose and be constantly sliding off the bars. I like the Arctic Cat brand because they actually have a probe that slides up inside the handle bars. but they are $45. I am not sure how long it will take to heat up the grips since they have to heat the bars too.
I was just wondering what experience anyone else has had and if there was another type or brand that works well and holds up?
I want to be able to put my own grips on and not be stuck with some hard piece of junk called a grip.
I need quick help because the elk hunt is coming in another week and a half and I want them for the hunt.
Thanks,

I have the wrap around type on my Cat and they work great. I have Gel type grips and they don't slip at all. All of it bought from RM ATV.
The one problem I can see with all the heated grips is the size of the switch. I went to radio shack and bought a smaller one rated at the same amperage and it fits the area where it has to mount much better. Another problem is finding a good place to mount that huge resistor. You have to be careful because the wires coming out of the resistor will break off very easily.
