It seems that while everybody has been fighting in the HONDA/POLARIS war at the local mudruns... Artic Cat has snuck in the back door and started kicking some serious A$$...
I attended a mudrun yesterday and watched as a young, good looking blonde on an Artic Cat kicked everybodys tail in the womens division. I saw her run in the mens class and came in second.....
Gotta respect her for that.... she was up against all the big boys.... That girl could drive too... the factory exhaust was cut off of it, and it had "double barrel" exhaust on it... LOUD!!.... You could hear her just banging away on the gears... powershifting at full throttle in shallow water, then banging back thru the gears when the water got deep.... Funniest thing was she was running 25" tires... no 27's 28's not even vampires...
Is there a third team in the battle for bragging rights???.....
It will be interesting to see her at Karnack...

I have been posting about how I down right amaze Honda owners with my Arctic Cat 500. I even out mudded a 450es with 26" Vampires. My dumb Honda lover friends thought that a 300 4x4 could pull me because it had 26" TSL's. I drug that 300 for 20 feet with out spining a tire (on a gravel road) at half throttle.

It's easy to tell from all of them even thought they all share the same plastic.

The 300 has independent suspension and you can BARELY see the enging from the side.

The 400's engine is painted silver and it has a different bumper from the 500.

The 500 has a big pipe as a bumper.

Last week while at work out of town, I passed an Artic Cat dealership and had to go in and take a look. Those Cats are really nice. I even got to test out the 500 (Manual) and it has the most torque I have ever felt! More than the Honda 450's, and the Grizzly to boot! Another thing that impressed me was the ride quality of this machine. The Suzuki engine was really strong, but the one turn-off is that darned rocker shifter, I think I would never get used to that thing. I admit I am a Honda kind of guy and know Honda has always had quality ATVs, Artic Cat is catching on fast, fast enough to have me wanting that AC 500, but I am still in waiting for the Honda Rubicon, and yes, I still want to try out that AC 500 Auto. If I don't buy a Honda on my next purchase, it will be because I bought myself a new Artic Cat. I just wish it was about 60-70lbs lighter!
