I was out riding in our first snow this year when my ac quit running. I tried to restart it but it just turned over without a hint of starting. I noticed right before it shut off that it seemed like I was running out of fuel, but I had just fueled up before I started to ride, switched to reserve anyway just to try, made no difference. Continued to try to get it to refire but no good. I remembered a very similiar situation happened to me years ago with my honda 300, which at that time I finally figured out that my son who was sitting in front of me had turned the vent switch on the gas cap off. All I had to do was open the valve and it restarted. Thinking about this I loosened and removed my gas cap, put it back on,pulled the choke on, tried the starter and it fired back up. Off I went for about another mile and I could feel it starting to die again. Finally it shut off again and would not refire. Once again I removed the gas cap and put back on, pulled the choke on and it fired back up. Sorry to be so longwinded but just trying to supply all the info. So now my question, is it possible that some snow could have blocked my vent hose, I had been riding for a while in pretty heavy snow and it was packed up under the front of the machine pretty good, or does it seem maybe I should look for a pinch in my gas line. After the last time it quit I only rode back home(mile) and quit riding. Thanks for any suggestion or advice which might help me out.

Try and pull the vent hose off the top of the tank and see if you can blow through it. I had a similar case but mine was cloged with mud. The vent hose on mine was so long it would allmost reach my front differential, so I cut it off. No more problems.

Thanks mudcat, found a big chunk of ice frozen over the end of the vent hose, have moved it to a more protected location.
