Warranty Question ?
#1
Today I went to price some 589s and was told that only the stock diameter of 25s will keep from voiding the warranty!!!!!! I guess all you guys and gals with the 26, 27s etc know this? I bought an extended as well so it looks like I'm stuck with 25s for 3.5 yrs. #@$%^! Is my dealer for real or should I go to another one? He also told me I can't get a service manual for under $200 US, which I have heard in the meantime, is false. Please advise before I buy any rubber or take it in for my idle problem.

I had my 27" 589s installed by my dealer, before I took delivery. I would think he is full of $#!^. They couldn't void the entire warranty. They may refuse to cover a repair that could've been a direct result of the larger tires.(busted cv, drive shaft, clutch) If I thought that my dealer would do something like this I would not have stepped foot into his shop. As far as the service manual is concerned, I have mine right here in front of me. I paid $49.95, just have him look up part #2256-469. I think you need to have a talk with your dealer, or find a different one.
I have a great dealer, ride with him quite often. He demos quads with 27" tires on them. Even gave me a loaner quad once. Have had nothing but great service out of them, sent them quite a bit of business.
If anyone is looking for a good dealer try them out. You may find a better price but you will not match their service.

Hey JoeHunter,
Mudcat is absolutly right. I thought I would just add one more fact.Tell your dealer to look in the ATV accessory brochure there he will find (for sale by Arctic Cat)26" tall Titan 495 AT tires. It says nothing about these tires voiding your warranty!. I actually got my Titan 589 AT's installed today (26x12x12 rear 26x9x12 front). They are awsome. I will be posting some pictures as soon as figure out how to. I would definetly consider finding a new dealer if you have one somewhat close to you. Keep us posted.

This is my local dealer and he has been selling cats for a long time. I figured I was safe. The next closest one is about 1/2 hr away but couldn't get me a 500i for a coule of months so I went with this guy, as he had one. Does anyone have a contact # for info from AC regarding warranty or other technical questions? There is nothing on their web site. I haven't looked for it in my operators manual yet.

Bad News Folks:
I contacted AC today and they confirmed what my dealer told me. Running anything larger than stock size tires voids the warranty. i.e. anything that breaks that can be blamed on extra stress of larger tires would not be covered. This would pretty well mean everything related to the drive train, motor included. I asked the Customer Service Rep why this wasn't included in the section on Exclusions to the Limited Warranty in the Operators manual. She said that I had a good point and maybe they should include that fact.
I don't know if a Judge would back them.
Has no other dealer told anyone about this? I am the only one who bothered to ask?
Maybe your dealers would just exclude the fact that they sold you big tires when making a claim to AC. Maybe they are all slimeballs!

Joehunter, There are alot of arguments that could be said on this issue we've mentioned a few already. Ultimately it all depends on how much your dealer would be willing to work with you if you did have a problem. The best way to avoid any issues is to get the new tires along with New wheels that way if you had a problem just throw the stockers back on before you bring it in for service. Enough said!
I almost forgot, Just don't buy the new tires and wheels from the dealer who would service it!

10-4 CrazyCat, I just got to wear off the nibbs on my stockers. I was out in a foot of week old snow and almost had to use the winch a couple of times. The first time I had trees around, the second was in the middle of an unplowed area with nothing to winch too. Each time I was able to rock it out in reverse. My wife is not too impressed that I was even looking into tires so I told her I'll have to get stuck a few times with the stockers before I buy any beefier ones.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I hear you Joehunter, I wanted the new tires as soon as I got the new machine before I put any wear on the stock ones. That way when the 6 month warranty is up is can sell the stockers on ebay as almost new ones I figure I can get around $200.00 for them. You might want to run that explanation to your wife.lol
