Hello thought I read somewhere that Artic Cat was making a plushier seat and some other changes to the current 2000 model year Cat. I may have read it here on this forum if they are doing this to the current model year shouldn't they also give these upgrades to the custumers that had already bought one???

I know they did this on the 99 models, because every dealer I talked to told me that Arctic Cat had softer seats for 99 compared to 98.

I don't want to be an ***, but why would Arctic Cat give away "free parts". The reason for saying the seat is softer and things of that nature is so that people trade-in their 1-2 yr old machines for the one that is supposedly better. Just my 2 cents.

I'm with you on the trade in philosophy. I think its a selling point. If I were given the option of a brand new 2000 or a brand new 99 500 manual, I would take the 1999 model because of the bigger tires, and I like the graphics and plastic better on that model. They are the same bike except for the new lugnuts on the wheels that replace the old "bolt" style.

Believe that is called "derrived demand" (?).
