quick question

Thanx for the replies. I left mine machine at the dealer and the back brake was totally gone. (no wonder I had no braking) the fronts were at 50%. I will do them myself next time. I hve 986 mi. on and this is what my brakes are at. They will charge me 2hrs. labor for checking the brakes, replacing the back pads and bleeding all the lines. I felt this is to much, is it?

To be honest with you that is about the time it took me to do one of my quads. But I imagine with parts and labor you are looking at a $250 job if I had to guess. I think the cat pads are over priced at around $30 a set down here. I used the EBC pads for $22 a set and have had good results.
IOWABOB,
I'm working on improving my performance, I'll be doing some "12 oz. curls" by my pool tonight!

It takes me less then 1 hour to do all 4 sets, put the bike in the air take all 4 tires off, there are 2 bolts on the back of the brakes (10 mm) undo them, DON'T undo the brake lines, lift up the brake cylinder undo the safety clip pull the pin and the brakes fall off into your hand, if you haven't done any damage to the rooter just give them a light sanding, use some Chanel locks to squeeze the plunger back into place(this is easer if you loosen the top 2 screws on the brake fluid bowl on the handle bar), then revers the proses to put it back together, DON'T forget to tighten the 2 screws on the brake fluid bowl, squeeze the brake a couple of times it should tighten right up. good luck you just saved your self over 150 bucks by doing it your self.
