Question

I just bought a Model 2000 300 2x4 Arctic cat! My wife and I want to ride together. Do you think the 300 is enough horse power to pull both of us? I am about 240 she is 125. We will be riding in the mountains next to our home. No bluff riding but some good hills and mud. Thanks for your response

I don't have that much experience with the 300, but I would still say it should do fine. I wouldn't guess you would be able to be hauling around in 5th, high, up big hills or anything, but in the lower speeds it should pull whatever you pile on it.

I have a 98 300 2x4 and it should do what you want. Low range is where I travel at most times. High speed lawn mower is my speed. Some one may get off and walk every now and then.

burime, Congrats on your purchase! The 300 Cat will be fine for the both of you. Horse power is important as is torque but you'll find that gear choice is going to be of most importance when your riding. Thats where the 300 really shines . If you don't know the 300 has 5 forward speeds and 1 reverse plus the choice of selecting hi, low and super low range! A 2x4 isn't the best choice for hill climbing and mud but if you don't try anything to crazy you'll be fine. Besides finding the machines limitations will be part of the fun! Be safe & Happy Trails!

Win3855, Hi, I see your from Portland. My wife, kids and myself have been enjoying vacationing up your way for 12 or so years now, in the York, Ogunquit area! We try to get up there at least twice a year.I especially enjoy Oqunquit beach and visiting the Nubble Light. I Know this has nothing to do with the subject but I thought I drop you a note saying we really enjoy visiting your beautiful state.

Thanks for responding!
I got a chance to take it up on the mountain today by myself! This was some rough terrain, huge rocks and ruts! my arctic cat was like a tank. I was really surprised how well it performed for a 2x4. You would have to work hard to get this bad boy stuck. This terrain was so rough I didn't get out of first may be twice and then for only a few feet.
Thanks Dan
