I thought i let you no on a little some i did. I had abig goige in my bash plate on my 500. So ibought a sheet of puck board which comes in i beleive blue, white and red and made a new one take the old one and trace it cut the lines out with a jigg saw works great and looks good plus puck board cost me 12 dollars at the lumder yard. For those that don,t no what puck board is it,s plastic or neoprene sheets they use in arena to cover the boards.

If they don't make it, Cat owners will create it.

Oh well, if you ever do get the pics on the internet highway shoot them my way. One of the things I like the best about my Cat is that it's easy to work on. The less electric gizmos the better (I know I've gone off on a tangent).

Since some of us are blessed by living in the south we don't know what puck board is, and it isn't very common around here. I have used a material that is real simmular to the original skid plate to make some guards for the sides of the radiator out of truck mud flaps that are stiff plastic and cost about 7.50 per. not big enough to make a full skid plate but big enough to fabricate about anything else you need to protect, looking at adding a guard under the rear driveshaft between the rear lower control arms, to keep vines or briars from wraping around the shaft and damaging the rubber boot or the seals, what do you think?

this is the mud man concerning protecting your drive shaft in the back i assume just a thought find 2 pieces of plastic pipe that fit inside each other with pipe fitting over rear diff find a way to hook on the pipe and then at the motor anchor other pipe to frame if you can get this plastic pipes moving inside each other without them coming apart while suspension is moving it should work just like pto shaft on farm implement they have a safty plstic pipe around shaft that slips inside of each other. if you can do this let me no how it works i don,t have time to put all my ideas to work!!!!!!!!!!! theres got to be someone out there that sells plastic you,ll have to do some digging like i said before puck is used in hockey arena for the boards it,s aplastic sheet thats put on the boards over top of the lumber so people don,t get slivers and get stuck on nails and stuff.good luck i,m sure yuo,ll find something puck board comes in i believe blue white and red there mite be more colors out there i don,t no.
