There is a plug on top of the engine case right beside the pull starter housing. Remove this plug and there are timing marks on the flywheel that can be seen through the hole. You must make sure the piston is on the compression stroke if you are adjusting valves. Also make sure you line the timing marks up on TDC as close as possible, just a little bit off will change your valve clearence.

Those timing marks he spoke of will tell you when the piston is top dead center. To determine which stroke the piston is positioned at, the best way I have found is to remove the spark plug and stick a finger in the hole. When you rotate the crank, on the compression stroke, you can feel air rushing out the spark plug hole. This will show you that the piston is on the compression stroke, and then you can line up the timing marks.

I had that problem when adjusting valves on my grizzly. I adjusted them on the exhaust stroke and had to do it over.

Thanks guys. I attempted to adjust my valves, and hehe honestly i made a mess. I ended up with a running machine but now the exhaust pipe uhh glows bright red. After i noticed this i shut it down and went in the house for the night. I hope i didnt do any damage. I will try once more and if i cant get it, off to the dealer it goes...
