Arctic Cat sent me the 2003 mini catalog(I guess) and I see they have a front bumper shown in the back. It looks tough from the picture but has anyone seen this in person? I push through tons of brush and its taking a toll on my ride. The bumper looks very similar to the stock plastic which was no small reason why I bought my 2002 400 to begin with. It looks cool. How sturdy is this bumper and will it fit 2002's or just 2003's? I'm sure I'll get a better/quicker answer here than I would at my dealership. Thanks all in advance.

The bumper will fit 2002 and newer models. And from the one I saw today in the box, it looks like it is made of 1/8" steel with wire mesh covers for the lights and grill openings.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think it's worth the $150 they want for it? I like the idea that it covers the headlights. I have already cracked the housing and siliconed it back together to make it water tight again. Is this the answer?

I would buy one if I had a 2002 or newer model.

Lumpy, I'm waiting for my dealer here in Maine to receive these front bumpers, from the pictures I've seen so far I think it looks really cool. I'm also getting from page 2 of the RIDE magazine Vol. 1 Issue 1 that "Fender Flare Extension Kit” (P/N 0436-433) which fits all 2002 4x4 models, hopefully this will keep me a bit cleaner when going through the mud. That fender flare kit looks pretty mean too. I don't see me buying one though. I bought my bike to get dirty with. So far so good. At least I was smart enough to buy the 2500 pound winch with it. I've been buried up to my **** a couple of times and really needed it. I will have to look into the bumper soon.

Just installed my new bumper on my cat,it fits good and looks good.Plus you get to keep the original bumper underneath the brushguard. The bumper is expensive but if it saves my lights or my radiator it was worth it.Looks like it is made pretty solid.I purchased the extensions on the mudflaps but havent installed them yet.Just my two cents.

Just to clarify one thing, I too like getting muddy when riding but there are times when I'd rather stay a bit cleaner but with the way the fenders are on my 2002 500i that is nearly impossible even if I tried. I'm going today to my local dealer to see if these new bumpers and fender flare extension kits have arrived yet, since other people are seeing them around the country I would imagine they should be here real soon.
