has anybody heard about the availability of a kit to convert all the time 4wd ac's to in and out. we have a 2001 400 and a 1998 454 that we would like to convert. while at dirt week an ac dealer said that they were available from ac off of demo models. was he pulling our chain?

I haven't heard anything like that. I guess the best thing to do is call that dealer back up and ask to get one. I would take changing out the whole front differential. I am sure it could be done but I would assume that it would really be high priced.

Hi, in the 2002 accessories catalog they have a 2/4 shift lever kit for a 250, so they should have one for your 400 & 500. Check this OUT

I knew about the kit for the 250 but I did't really belive that it would be available for other models. I was hopeful but I lost the business card of the guy that told me about it. I will eventually track it down (hopefully at Trail Fest at Hatfield McCoy in WV) but I thought that if it were true that there would be somebody out there who had done it before. I ride the 500 and it has "in and out" already, but my guy and my "evil" stepson envy my 2W/4W, steering is soooo much easier in 2WD. The guy at dirt week said $200.00? I am a stingy girl and I won't give my 500 with 2W/4W up, any more than I would give up my manual shift, toooo much fun!
