97 Bearcat 454
#3
The 97 Bearcat is a little lesser of a beast than the new 500 models. The 98 454 however, compares much better. For 98, AC lightened up the steering and knocked a bit off of the ungodly pathetic turning radius that plagued the 97 model. The 500 is built on the same frame as the 97 454, but with the advantages of the 98 model's improvements. $3,700 isn't really a bad price, seeing that it sold for a hair under 6 grand in 1997. You can still find 98 model 454 cats brand new for a little over $5000. 97 bearcats ate sparkplugs on a regular basis, though I figure a jetting change would help that significantly. Main point- Drive it first, and see if you like the way it drives. If you do, its not a price that you would later regret paying.
