Hey guys this is my first post and i got to say this sight is auesome. Ok I am getting a new Arctic Cat 300 4x4 sometime this week. i need to know if the 27x12x12 will fit on my Cat. The stock tires are 24x9x12 on Front and 25x10x12 on Back. I want them all the way around. I mostly to mudding and often to some field riding. Mostly Mud though. Gotta love that stuff. I am moving to Mississippi before to long and I am going to Mud It for a long time. I live in Sparta, TN at the present. But you guys no every thing so I wanted to ask the CAT guys. You guys are the best. Please Help A Fellow Cat get on the right track. Thanks All.

Your tires should all be 25" tall all the way around if I am correct. One good thing here is that AC uses about the same basic frame other than the rear end on the 300 as it does on the larger bikes, so you should benefit from the good fender clearance. Therefore, you shouldn't have any trouble fitting the 27" tires on there. The added weight of the claws will however lug you down quite a bit though on power. I'm not sure about whether 27" Tri's up front will rub the shocks or not though. It would seem like they would because my 26" titans come fairly close and that is a 10.5" wide tire. I would suggest going with the 27" Bi-claws up front. Steering would be a lot better that way too. You could also just take the 27" Bi-claws all the way around and still use the stock rims. It wouldn't sap as much power and would handle better, still giving you good ground clearance. But if you are set on the wide tri-claws, they will at least fit in the back. You may have to look into a lift for the fronts to fit. If you do go with the Tri's, I would suggest using the slimmer Bi-claws up front still.

BigCat300:
Glad to see you decided on Arctic Cat, they are awesome machines! I've seen a few guys on here who are running 27" all the way around on 400-500 'Cat's without a lift. Sounds like they only rub when landing a hard jump, or possibly in a full lock turn, on uneven terrain. I would like to upgrade to a 26-27" myself, but probably will wait till I wear down the stock Titan's first, as funding is limited.

My concern is putting 27" on a 300. Some of the guys say they lost quite a bit of power on the 400 when changing over to a 27" tire. You don't loose power, but with the added tire size, and weight, it takes more power to turn them, so the bike won't seem as powerful as it did with stock tires. I am just worried that you won't be happy with the performance of the 300, with 27's mounted. These Arctic Cat's are awesome machines, and I would hate to see you disappointed in the machine's power and responsiveness with the larger tires, as I'm sure it would take a lot more away from the 300 than it does from the 400-500 bikes. Is it at all possible to get a bigger 'Cat? If you plan on running the mud most of the time, with the larger, heavier tires, you'd probably be happier with the larger machine.

Good luck, and hope you enjoy your new 'Cat!

Mike

I would not run 27" tires on the AC 300. The front and rear are one inch different. I would run 25x8x12 on the front and 26x9x12 or 26x10x12 on the rear. I think running 12" wide tires on the rear would rob too much power. My stock tires on my AC300 4x4 measure 23" on the front and 24" on the rear.
