My buddy has a 1996 ac454 4by4 that skips and sputters until he turns the lights ON.......then it runs fine????anyone have a suggestion on this problem???

 

You need to take the electrical connections apart on it and clean them and put some dielectric grease on them. The main ones are the ones down by the rectifier by your right foot. My 98 500 did the exact same thing, I cleaned all the connections and put the dielectric grease on them and it ran better and fixed the problem. It does take a little while to do, just get a 6pack of your favorite and get to work.
