Bump to that Andy! Also I do a lot of 4 wheeling in my lifted Jeep YJ and I use sky jacker sway bar disconnects to let each wheel articulate sepratly from one another. Now if it was strictly a woods rig like a 4 wheeler I would just take it out. So why are they even putting sway bars in utilty quads anyway. Does anyone that runs a utility quad that has a sway bar feel like they need one and would have to much body roll without one?

They (the mags) say that the AC's suspension is a little stiffer, therefor it doesn't need a sway bar.

Does anybody know how much more punch the '03 500 has, with the Vinson motor improvments??

Rincon, I too am going to learn more and more about the 500 IRS. My feelings are, if you want to race a 4x4 buy a Prairie 650 "thats what I did", if you want to mud a 4x4 buy a 500 IRS manual. I have always thought this ever since the P650 and the 500i came out. One half is complete, the other half will be with in a year. But, by the time the 2004 models roll out you never know what will be on the market.

That's a fair bit!

The new mag i got said that they had an '02 500i and a '03 500i and in the drag the '03 had quite a bit more power. Good news!

I would have to recommend the Polaris over the Cat. I have a 700 and I love it. How did you wreck yours anyway? You might also want to check out the Sportsman 600. They say that the 600 has more get up and go than the 700 due to the power to weight ratio. Good luck in finding your next ATV, but I would stick with what you know.

I wrecked mine by going up too steep of a hill. It flipped over backwards on top of me. It did $3400 and some odd dollars worth of damage but has since been repaired. I havn't rode it since it's been fixed. I'm still waiting on my broken ribs and my lacerated spleen to heal up. I looked at the sp 600 but I don't want to be a polaris test pilot again like I was with the 700. It took a full year of taking it back and forth to the dealer getting all the bugs worked out. I havn't had any proplems with it recently though, other than my own stupidity. I thought I'd go back to the sp500 since I had one before and both my sons have 500 h.o's and we have had minimal problems with them. The sp 500 has all the power I need and are more reliable, at least in my opinion. The 500 cat is in my mind though. I ran into 5 guys last summer that were all rideing them and they had nothing but good things to say about them. The only thing holding me back is, from what I've heard, the cat doesn't seem to have quite the power that the 500 h.o has. I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the cat before I make a decision. Who knows? I may keep the 700 for another year, if it seems o.k after the repairs. Especially with the talk about the EFI going around. DECISIONS! DECISIONS!

I noticed you have an AAEN clutch kit and pipe. Has that made any improvements to the 700? What exactly does the AAEN Clutch Kit do for the ATV?

I talked with my dealer today and he said its very possible that AC is going to put one of their snowmobile engines in the AC. I guess I will wait on that.

I feel that the aaen clutch kit made a big improvement on take off. It just seemed to have a lot more get up and go from the starting line. The clutch engages at a little higher rpm (mabey 300 rpm's or so). It just takes a little getting used too. I only noticed minimal improvement if any with the aaen muffler, but it's very possible that I could be wrong. I've read other posts where other forum members say that the muffler made a big difference. AAen claims that the muffler adds UP TO a 5.h.p gain and the clutch kit and muffler together make a good combination. I liked the sound of the muffler with the spark arrestor installed on it. Without the spark arrestor, it was way too loud for me. I'd recommend both.
