Someone in here has a 400 running 27" vamps...but they weigh just tooooooooo much. I would put 27 10x12 on the front and 27-12x12 on the rear. if you put 12" on the front you will have to add spacers and or offset wheels to allow you to be able to turn.

Hey BCD, I see you mounted those Bugs on your stock rims. Are the rears on the 6.5" rims, or do you have them on the 454 rims that are wider? They don't look like they hang over much more than my 10.5" 495 titans.

I had 27x12x12 Magnum Tri-claws front and rear on my AC 400. I had to take them off, it robbed too much power away from the bike. I replaced them with some 25x9.5x12 vamps on the front and some 25x12x12 vamps on the rear. The bike spins them over a lot easier. Might try the 26", may not rob too much power. If you want a serious mud tire without the large size, the vamps lugs are the same size on the 25",26",27" tires. Might also check out Highlifter's new OUTLAW tire. It is suppose the be a awsome tire and comes in different sizes.

Hello BCD,
Do you have a download of a picture of your 2000 AC elsewhere on the web, or could you e-mail me one? I am looking at the same tire combo you are running, much, much lighter than going with the vampires. Their web site stated the vampires were
30% to 35% heavier than regular super swampers and
only 4 ply construction. Another combo I am looking at are the mud machine 27x9.5x12 Bi-Claw front and the 27x12x12 rear. I e-mailed mud tires for the weight of their tires. I am also looking at going with the ITP magnum billets in 12x7. Less rotational inertia with less unsprung weight hanging out on the end of the axle. This combination would seem to put much less stress on the cv joints and axles. Keeping with factory engineered tire/rim weights would be worth the investment resulting in longevity of the drivetrain.
What mail order have you found to have the best pricing and inventory?
My mods to date are:
1. Warn 2000# winch
2. AC cv protectors
3. Windshield (I know I'm getting old)
4. Headlight protectors fashioned via the AC forum.
I have 42 miles on my cat. Soon to have many more.
Thanks ,
Glenn
