oil question?
I would not run 0-30 weight because of the transmission. Granted the oil will be at 0 weight for cold starting purposes and 30 w when needed. Being synthetic the oil will also sustain higher temps better. However, If your quad is a manual I would not run 0 weight because the transmission shares the oil and the shear strength of the oil is needed to protect the gears when meshing under load. If your quad was an automatic I would'nt think there would be a problem.

oil question?
Hi , I was down at the ARCTIC-CAT DEALER a couple of weeks ago and Arctic-cat has a package (All-Season Extreme) of 0-40w synthetic oil with a oil filter and spout for your atv. It's price at $46.95 cdn. so I think the oil is $30.00 cdn for 3.75 liters or $8.00 a liter.
You should be okay with 0-30w in the winter but when it gets warmer go to a 0-40w synthetic oil. And make sure the synthetic oil is wet clutch approved. The Arctic-cat oil is.
I wonder who makes it for them??????????

oil question?
I wonder the same thing Bigcat!!
I don't see a problem running 0-30 or 0-40...I know Amsoil makes a 0-30 formulated for 4-stroke utility type motors. AC recommends the 0-40 for the new 4-stroke snowmobiles.
You should be O.K. Monkboy

oil question?
Make sure that what ever oil you use is suitable for wet clutch and motorcycle transmission use. Many of the automotive oils contain friction modifiers which can lead to clutch slippage. I've been using the Amsoil 0W-40 since it came out in my Honda with no complaints. My Cat will get it at the next oil change.
