Ok Boner did this in Highlifters forum a while back and I thought it was a good Idea.

just tell about yourself, you 4wheeler, mods, future plans, age, education ect.

Well this is me:
My name is Chuck Rayborn an I am a member of Tau Kappa Eplision IY Chapter, I will be 24 in May and I live in Fayette Al. I have a BS in Evn. Science and will have my Masters in a few years. I drive a 2000 ArcticCat 500 Manual, I have been driving manuals in the mud for years and I love being able to set the gear that I need.
I work for a orgizination under grant to the United States Department of Aggrilcuture, controling Boil weevil populations here in the Cotton state. I use my cat daily as the job requires it, Awsome job, play in the mud all day and work on my tan...and get paid..
My cat has a Warn A2500 Winch with the control off of a A2000. I am running 27x10-12 (frt) 27x12-12(rear) mudbuggs on the factoty rims, and I love them. I have NGK plugs and run Exxon 97 + 107 octane boost and can tell a diffrence. My top speed is over 50 mph. Since I run my cat in dark I have added Warn 4X Fog lights to supplement my high beams.(have not had time to hook them up) I just had my racks Rino-coated as to prevent rust and gear slippage,,Its awsome. In the gear compartment I carry a warn ****** block, the tool kit, lighter, 200 Ft of mil spec Parashute cord, and a tire repair kit (got it whn I was running the Tiatns)
Wrapped around the frt bumper is 75 feet of 1/8 cable and I also carry 25 ft of chain for short pulling and to hook the cable to.
Future palns, I truly dont trust the plastic skidplate so I'm having a Diamond plate one made and well as custom stick stoppers in diamondplate as well. I am planning to add a HL horsepower kit and a HL lift kit as soon as they get them perfected

I'm Gerry. Have an AC 500 Auto. Got it March 2 and have just over 200 miles on it. Have a riot riding in mud and trail riding in the mountains of Vermont. Warn 2000 winch, rear rack extension, front rack "pack". Dont want to lift it as I've seen other machines raised and the center of gravity goes up and that doesn't always work when it the mountains all the time. Stock tires for now until I wear them out. Wanting to find more horsepower,,,got any ideas?

Hey, this is Mike. I'll be 24 on May 20th (how about you BCD?), and hoping to graduate from W.S.U. on May 5th, if everything goes well, and I can pass all my classes. I was supposed to graduate back in May of '98, but rolled my truck, was busted up too bad, so the school made me quit, take some time to recover, then come back and finish. We won't go into my feelings about that bunch of sh_t, as I should have been done by now, but oh well, live and learn I guess.

I bought a 2000 Arctic Cat 500 Automatic about a month ago now, and absolutely love it. Still trying to break it in fairly gently though, have right at 100 miles now. Kind of sucks though, as I am only able to ride on the weekends, due to school, and the good riding is over 100 miles away, in any direction, so it cuts down on the riding time.

As for mods, don't have much yet. Started with a Warn A2000 and Cycle Country stick stoppers. Bolted on an old military mortar box to the front rack, which contains a Superwinch ****** Block-9000# rating, two clevis hooks, one twisted clevis hook, axe, first aid kit, 30', 20', and 6' tow straps (for both towing, and tree savers), gloves, 50' 3/8" rope, and 20' 1/2" rope, and a 15' section of 3/8" choker cable with hooks. I also made some custom headlight covers out of the old grill, that was replaced by the winch plate, and a set of extended hitch brackets, which allow for both a 2" ball to be mounted at all times, and still have the open 5/8" hole for drop pin type trailers, or clevis hook attachments. Works great.

As money allows, I'd like to put on a set of front accessory lights, and rear back up lights. I also need to get a 50' section of 3/16" aircraft cable, to complement my winch cable, and a section of chain as well. Would also like to get a set of 26" or 27" tires, but that will have to wait till the stocker's wear out. When that happens, I'll probably also look into a performance kit of some kind.

Good to hear from all of you, happy trails!

Mike

Hello, my name is Bob and I'm 48 years old and I'm an electronics technician in Boise Idaho. I got my handle minehunter, because that is what i did while I was in the Navy. I just put my money down on a new 500 auto today. The Cat was still in the box. The dealer didn't have any red ones put together, it seems that green is the hot color around here. All my past machines have been green, and I needed a change. It has a warn 2000 winch, and Titan 589 tires. Can't wait to get it on the trails around here. The snow is coming off the hills and the desert is not hot and dusty yet. Ahh, life is good.

My name is Trent. I'm 28 and am a civil engineer for my local county. Went to Iowa State to school.

I got my 500 auto in November. I have about 250 miles on it. I use it mostly around my acreage and in the timber. I've got the Warn A2000 winch and a Moose snow plow. The plow works nice in the winter. I mounted a plastic storage box on the back rack to carry my gear/tools ($23 at Northern, what a deal) I've made a 20 gallon sprayer/boom for the back rack. I've thought about purchasing a pull-behind mower.

There aren't a lot of places to trail ride around here. I've made some trails on my property. There hasn't been much moisture around here since last fall. Consequently, you can ride in the riverbed of one of the local rivers for 15-20 miles. Most of the places where you cross water are only 9-12 inches deep. It's fun. I've got some other private property that I can ride with others. The closest "legal" public ground is hours away.

As far as future mod's, I'll probably either make or buy some boot protectors. Has anyone priced the new ones from AC? I saw them in the March issue of "Pride". They look pretty slick. Also will get a GPS unit for out of state trips, etc.
