Default Steering effort w/lift

Has anyone noticed that it's alot harder to turn lock to lock with a lift installed? If feels like somethings binding up at about 3/4 turn. I jacked it up and watched the tie rods. It looks like they may be hitting the plastic motor gaurd in the center. I was thinking about trimming the plastic a little bit and see if it helps.
