I do have a lift in mine but I blame the joint failure to a torn boot that was not fixed fast enough. The guy that fixed the axle actually suggessed stiffening the suspention becuase I was bottoming out the joint maybe because of to much load. That is why I put the lift in and for more ground clearance.

ok i took it apart today and this is what i found, sorry i dont know the terms but here it goes, alright the driveshaft that comes from the differential lock in the front, where it connects to the other connecting piece into the center of the wheel (this piece slides into groves into the wheel hub and when twisted it turns the wheel), the end of the shaft fits into this piece, BUT it fits, but it is not catching, it does look like the grooves are stripped, but if i push it together hard and keep it straight it kinda catches but not very well so i think it is stripped,
(the grooves it is suppost to catch on are only 1/2 cm high) i was wondering if i just need to buy that piece or what can i do to fix it, does this sound like it is stripped or something else?
and i was wondering if it was normal for the drive shaft to slid inward and out ward a little bit in that connecting piece but not come completely off or is it not supposed to move at all?

Sounds like the grooves on ether the shaft or on the hub are stipped. You will need to find out which one is stripped or maybe both. When you find out which part is bad you can replace that one.You should contact your dealer if you bought it new from them because this should not happen unless the factory did not harden the part correctly or the dealer did not tighten the large nut on the end of the axle properly when they assembled it from the factory.

CV joints are made to slide in and out. That is normal, not the problem. The CV will have a set of ball bearings inside the joint. Usually they don't break or wear out, so the problem is most likely that the CV housing has stripped out.
I would recommend sending the whole thing to the CV shop that the other guy used (CVAXLES.COM)
It's not something u can do in the garage and it sounds alot cheaper than the dealer.
Just send it in and let a pro. look at it.
That's what I recommend.
