That was the only thing I didn't like about the 28" Vamps. They were only 26 1/2" tall and about 8" wide. The 28X10.50 Laws are 28" tall and 12" wide. The rear 28X12.50 Laws are 28" tall and 13" wide. The good thing about vamps is they are one of the smoothest riding tires out there. You can ride them on pavement with no vibration. The Laws are rough as he__ on the road, put they are bad boys in the mud.

I wonder if a set of 27X12 vamps all around would hang with the outlaw setup I've got. The wide vamp setup used to be the bad boy setup just a couple of years ago. I would like to ride with someone who had the same 500i with the vamps just to see how they do. Before Outlaws they were the best thing out there right?

Why do you have more power? Is he riding a pre 03' Cat?

Remember, "wider is better".

Well wheel spin is king in mud, I was not talking about donuts. You ever see a big *** 4x4 haul through the mud, they have wheel spin, thats how you get through the mud. You skim across the top, never sinking to the bottom and the tires clean perfectly with wheel spin. Trust me, sometimes I can get my outlaws in 2nd gear to spin and when it does it goes through mud like a hot knife through butter. Go through that mud holw crawling along in 1st gear you will probably make it but if the mud whole was deeper than 2 feet then you might get stuck. The tires will fill up with mud and nighty night.

Anywas I have tons of experience with this concept, don't settle for first gear tire turning power, settle for 2nd gear wheel spinning power. Thats where my new quad is going to come in, P650, oh yah!!!

Its funny my dad's Quadrunner 500 with a solid axle has more power than my '02 500i, same motor its just heavier and robs more power with the IRS. It could also get the outlaws to spin in 2nd gear, ahhhh, the good old days.

If you can't understand what I'm trying to explain then ask me a question. Every person in their right mind knows you need wheel spinning power for serious mud not just wheel turning power. The arctic cat only offers wheel turning power, its the sad trueth. So talk all you want, unless you can put up a defence to back up what ever comments you may have then don't say anything.
