Default Knocking sound

Hey, I have a 2002 375 2x4 Auto and it has started making a knocking noise. It's fine while idleing, but when you give it some gas, it starts knocking and seems to have lost some power or torque. Any idea's? It has less than 500 miles and I've been very pleased with it, but is something is already wearing out, I'll be disappointed. Thanks for any idea's.

did you check the gap in your plug?

Does it sound like the lifters?
You might need to adjust your lifters

Is it under warranty

It is not under warranty. I have not checked anything yet, I was going to get some idea's on what to check before I did. How would I check/adjust the lifters? Thanks.

My Auto tranny on my 01 500 started making a knocking sound and lost power last spring and it turned out be a nut on the back clutch that was not torqued right at the factory. it backed off and runied allot of expensive stuff. it had allot more than 500 miles though and i have not heard of a 375 having this problem. i would take it to the dealer and have them look at it to be sure, unless you have a repair manual and are mechanically inclined.

Just wondering if this ever was resolved?I just bought a used 2003 400I 4x4 .It has ~230 miles ,and has a knock just off idle too.seems to disappear at higher rpms and cant hear it at idle. The bike seems pretty doggy too,but I'm not sure what normal is...It gets to 40 mph fairly well, but after 1km wide open(gravel road) it still wont hit 50mph.I could be kinda spoiled by the power of my (2 stroke) 94 Polaris 400 L 4x4 too...The Cat is awesome in the bush though...Low range and 4x4 will crawl over or through a lot!
TIA!

Nope, never did. I've determined that it was just the engine getting broke in. I can't really say it has a loss of power, just started making a new noise. The loss of power I mentioned I believe has to do with the belt getting worn.

So did the noise ever go away?
How many miles are on it now?
Thanks!

Some Cats, especially the 500's, can make a tapping sound at mid throttle, sounds a lot like a rod bearing because it comes and goes with throttle position, and goes away at high rpm's. Especially noticable on manual transmission models.

It's a compression release valve, nothing is broken.
