Shock Settings
#1
I was riding with a buddy of mine last weekend and spent a lot of time following him on the trail and noticed that his rear supension was squatted down most of the time to the point where the wheels were actually tilted inward. He drives the same thing I do a 2003 500I, I did not think it to strange as he had a passenger on board. I mentioned it to him and he noticed the same of my bike with just me on it. His shocks were on the hardest setting of 5, mine were set on 2, has anyone else observed this. I have now changed the rear to 4 and the front to 2. I am wondering how much stiffer it will be and if it will cancel out some of my independance.

I have a 2002 500i and I've never seen or heard anyone make statements about the suspension not holding the weight. I have my shocks set at 4 also and the wheels do not turn inside the vertical plan. With the double wishbone suspension, you should never see such. But if you say, that's what you see, then it must be true and I'll have to go back to the drawing board. But you take another look before you beat me up...

well i asked my buds to see if my cat did that when i was rideing, and they said with me on it anything would squat. but serouisly thay said thay dident notice anything like that when i was rideing it. tonight i'll get my bud to ride it and i'll follow behind it and see for myself. i'll be back.
