Yah AJ2 I didn't get much of a reply when I was looking for a comparison between the Outlander and the 400i too. I had to go to another site and got information on the Outlander. But none on the 400i. So .... until I ride each one, it doesn't look like I will get much info. If you want the url of the other site just email me. (check my profile)

I can't say much about the Eiger or the Outlander, but I do have an 03 400 auto. So far so good. The ride is very nice. I only have about 160 miles on it so far and like everyone says, it takes awhile for them to break in. Every time I ride it, it seems to get a little more power. I kind of wanted the 500 but I didn't really need it or the extra $1000 it cost. Would I recommend the Arctic Cat 400? Absolutely, I have and will.

I have an '03 400 ACT, love it, has an excellent ride, lots of clearance and susp. travel. It is heavier than the Eiger though, I wanted this mainly because I intend to use it as a dual purpose bike i.e. I am pulling firewood out of the woods. I have the 5 spd, which I recommend, if you're doing any sort of work with it. I would recommend the 400 to you in a heartbeat, but get a tire upgrade when you buy it. The edges of myy rims have multiple dents, they are exposed because of the narrow Dunlops that came in the bike.

The eiger will be sportier and lighter than the AC. The AC is heavier but has better ground clearance. They have the same engine.
It all boils down to your riding style. The more rock crawling, stump crossing, and mudding you do, the more you'd appreciate the AC. On the other hand if you plan to stick to well established trails and want a nimbler ride, opt for the Eiger.

The Suzuki Eiger is twice the bike the AC is. My father in law has one and it is an awsome bike at a good price. BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK.
Sorry AC Owners, but its true.

I think the Eiger would be more stable and reliable, mine can Mud very well with Stock Tires, with the SS Vamps on she is almost unstoppable! The Eiger will have better acceleration and top end speed since the Arctic Cat weighs more.

ARCTIC CAT all the way.

Why buy an Eiger with a str8 axle when you can get a A/C 400i auto for a little more and get a way better machine. I have an 03 400i auto with 3000 miles and no problems. i had to jet down a little thats it.
