Default 400 overheating!

A few months back my 400 suffered a collision with my brother's 375. The damage to my 400 included the radiator. I removed the radiator and let the quad sit for a month while I raised up the money for the parts. Ever since the repair, the machine has had a tendency to overheat. There is plenty of fluid in the system (no leaks) and I've checked that the assembly was done correctly. Do these things have thermostats? Or am I missing something else that may have been damaged either by the colision or by sitting with no fluid in the system for a month?

It really sounds like a thermostat issue. I'm pretty sure atv do have thermostats. If your not sure check with your dealer and they would be able to tell you for sure. If it is the thermostat maybe it dried up before you got it fixed.

Sounds like something's airlocked.Try bleeding your cooling system before you go changing anymore parts. Good luck

The thermostat should be on the left side of the machine. just follow the hose and you should find it easy enough. I have heard of people cuttung the spring out so that it free flows. Hope its nothing major.

The most obvious question would be "is the fan running"?
