02 AC 375 oil pressure question!
I,m getting about 8 psi of oil pressure @3000 rpm at the oil filter drain plug. The service manual
specifies 21.7-50.8 psi ! and shows an oil relief valve. Does anybody know where this valve is and
what it does?
The reason i'm concerned is because of the history of problems i've had with the engine.
At about 800 miles, the engine top end was getting pretty noisy so I brought it to the dealer.
They told the engine had no oil pressure. As a result, they replaced the oil pump and rebuilt the top end (under warranty). 900 miles later, the same thing happens. However, because the warranty had
expired, the dealer said they weren't going to cover it!
After two weeks of arguing with them, they finally replaced the whole top end of the engine at their expense. I asked them what had caused the problem but couldn't get a straight answer!
Any info would be appreciated! Tx
