Hey guys my 1999 DS starts right up but dies right away if we give it a little gas while its in neutral? Tryin to see if anyone else has had this problem and what could it be????

 

Hi and welcome to the ATV Connection. You have a classic in your 1999 DS650, first year they were sold. It was a monster ATV at the time, and still is for that matter. Can Am was trying to make a performance statement in the marketplace.

I would suspect fuel starvation. It gets fuel to start and idle, but not to accelerate. Maybe I would overhaul the carb(s)? and make sure all the circuits and jets are clean.

At least you are better off than a lot of folks whose machine just won't fire at all.
