ATC 250R with oddessy top end
#1
My friend has a 1982 atc 250R that he loves to death. What happened was we were at our local sand dunes and he let a freind ride it. Well that friend just happened to fry that brand new top end that was recently installed. The problem is that the last top end that was installed was an .080 piston, and for those of you that don't know that is the largest piston made for that bike. Now he needs a new sleeve, installation, and top end. I made a suggestion and am wondering if it will work.
I have seen in the past an article in Dirt Wheels that they put a Honda Pilot jug, piston, and head on the bottom end of a Water-cooled TRX/ATC 250R engine. I am wondering if the same idea will work for an air-cooled ATC 250R bottom end and a Honda Oddessy 350 jug, head, and piston?
I honestly have no idea if it will work or not. Basically what I am looking for at the moment is a definet no or a possibility. If it is no then I will have him get a new sleeve, or buy a jug off of ebay. If it might work, has anybody every heard of this before or am I the only "special" person to have this hair-brained idea?

No more bore's in this sleeve. The 86' TRX R's go much bigger but not the old air cooled ones. They just don't make a big enough piston to bore the sleeve larger.

I don't think a Oddessy 350 jug woulf fit on a 82 atc250r at all. It if could work, it would probably take alot of case work
that would be more expensive than just just buying a new jug. You might have your friend check ebay for a jug.
