The problem i am having with my 70 is that it just will not fire. I put a brand new plug in and its getting good spark. Me and my friend tried pulling it behind my EX while he sprayed starting fluid in the carb with no evail. All i know is the basics, and that is if it sparks and has some kind of fuel it should fire. Can anyone help????? Thanks

You might check the timing, make sure it hasn't moved. If I remember right there were marks on the cam gear and on the flywheel that should be pointed the same direction the piston travels. Don't quote me though. I'll buy your carb if you can't get it going J/K

Have you pulled the plug and while still attached to the spark plug wire and then grounded against one of cooling fins near bye kick the machine over and see if the plug is firing.

The spark plug is firing great. We thought it might be the carb so we were spraying starting fluid in it. The most we got was a fire ball out of the carb and my friend dancing around with his pants on fire. I thought maybe that had something to do with timing?
