Big Red dies when throttle is hammered.
#1
I've got a 250ES big red and when i just start it up or even after it has been ridden for a while when i hammer the throttle while in neutral it just kills itself down. I was wondering if it could be my head gasket (cuz it is cracked) or something on my carb. Help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Is there air blowing out of the head gasket?? If there is there will be a big loss in compression witch will lead to loss in throttle response and overall power. If it looks like theres no air coming out or being sucked in then your carb probably needs to be adjusted...
If air is blowing out or sucking in just replace the gasket.
P.S- Usually air screws should be about 1 1/2 tunrs OUT

Some things to consider. Pilot jet may be partialy plugged. Air screw in need of adjustment. Old gas, and or, water in the gas. Ive seen many bikes come and go with either one or more of these problems that had a bog right off throttle valve pickup
