Default proper fuel mixture for 250r

Does anyone know a good fuel mixture for a 85 250R ATC? Like everyone else, I've heard many opinions, but figured youse guys are the experts! I just got the trike, and would appreciate any info/tips. Also, does anyone know where to get some chrome foot pegs at a decent price for this bike?

Your talking about mixing the gas and oil right? Well pick a good name brand. Dont just to go wal-mart and pick out something cheap. Some good name brands are red line, amsoil, klotz, bel ray, golden spectro, maxima.

For the ratio use 40:1 for all around purposes.

I agree. 40:1 is a safe ratio. I personally like Torco gp-7.

3 ounces of oil per gallon of gas.

I use dumonde tech at 32:1,but any big name brand will work. Try to find out what last owner was mixing at,if you change you may have to rejet. It will change your fuelil ratio, not air:fuel ratio-but will affect jetting....hope this helps....now get rippin!!!! now bye

Thanks guys! The previous owner said 12 oz. of oil for 5 gallons of gas is what he used. I just wanted to hear other opinions. My buddy goes 32 to 1 mix. I use Maxima, I wouldn't get no cheap stuff. My seat is kinda slippery and hard to stay on when gunning it. Any ideas other than a seat cover/ stick em? If not, I might get another seat.

Don't go ******* WallFart, that's the only place I've found Castrol 2 stroke mix that wasn't fully synthetic.
As for the ratio. I was running 40:1 and going wide open down a paved county road and it decided to take a crap on me. Til I get it broke back in, its 24:1 and then probably 32:1.

Foot pegs? Can't help ya.

it probably "craped out" on you because of your jetting. If you think youl be able to un 24:1 think again. The plug will foul alot and it will be loaded up alot too. 32:1 is an ok ratio. I used to run run that but 40:1 is cleaner and runs smoother when properly re-jeted. oh ya and did i mention more power.

40:1 is what i run my 86R at. It is a great ratio, no loading up once your warmed up. By the wat Chris142, 40:1 is 3.2 oz per gallon not 3 oz per gallon, which is 16 oz per 5 gallons, so if you mix up a 5 gallon can it will be a little easier to figure out.
