Well since I'm getting my new 450R this year...its time to put the old 250r through a little renovation. I want it to serve as my night time drag racer at the dunes... So far I got a 6+ swingarm on it, Dg pipe, power core silencer, and boysen reed valves.. I plan on adding a new 310 kit w/ maybe a rad valve and bigger carb, then maybe a hinson race clutch

what I need to know is if I will need to jet this a certain way, or need a bigger crank etc....??????

 

with anything up to around 350cc you use your stock stroke (crank) jetting you will always have to play with to get right.

 

I've heard that the 310's run the highest RPM which makes them the best for drag racing. I know my neighbor is running a 310 that is drag ported in a ATC 250r, +6 swingarm (needs more), and is going to put it on alcohol (he uses the alky for his drag 250), The only thing that could beat him down at the dunes was a (i believe..) a 500cc banshee with a drag frame.

 

well. I am very excited....I guess I should upgrade to a bigger crank also? I am also putting a v force reed cage on it...

 

also, is there anywhere online were I can purchase a 310 kit?

 

Call up ESR! Dont know the # off the top of my head but they have the best products for 250R's and the best costumer service! Look on there site and look up the #. the site hasnt been updated in a long time so it would be beter if you talked to them on the phone. www.esr250.com

They are real cheap compared to every one else also. They can hook you right up.
