Default cracked casing

I have a 1985 250R Honda. My chain was lose and I didn't have a chain guard and I broke the left side of my casing out in Glamis CA. I broke it in the area of where you shift your gears. I took it to a shop that welds but they had said that they could not weld due to it being next to a seal that the gear rod go's through. Just seeing if anyone has an extra one or knows where I can get one that doesn't cost a hole lot.|

Here's what I would do. Buy one off of eBay for what is it anymore, ~ $50. Then take the other bad case back to the shop and tell them to weld it, if it holds, throw that baby back on and you have a good spare when it happens again.
