That all depends on where you live and what your local supply/demand ratio is.

Here in So Cal they are going from $1200 on up to $1600 and every once in a while some fool will ask $2200. I sold my '85 250R ATC about a year ago for $1400. Not bad considering I bought it in '92 for $1000.

Check your local Cycle Trader and see what the going prices are. That will tell you how much one will set you back

As MR. Darby Crash says it's all depends on location. Three years ago I bought an 86 250R ATC for $1500. Premium price but worth it. Average price in Phoenix is $1200 to $1900 depending on condition. If you find a good one and feel confortable about the price, BUY IT. Good Luck.

I got really lucky about 6 years ago and picked up a mint (except for small broken area in the rear fender) '86ATC250R for $700 and about 11 years ago got an '86ATC350X extremely mint except for a bent but ridable rear axle for $500.

To answer why you don't see that many, the good ones were only made for 2 years and the first time people open the throttle they decide to go with something a little milder.

Congrats on the purchase. Sounds like you got taken, I mean a good deal.

If this is your first time owning or riding a 250R trike be careful. It'll toss you right off the back in a heart beat. Take it easy until you get the feel for it. I went from a 185s to a 250R as well and I speak from experience. Believe it or not that bike can easily take a life if not ridden with alot of respect.

Have fun

ATC Racer or anyone else who knows!

I just bought a 96 TRX250R in excellent condition. But while checking the jetting I noticed that the carb model # shows that it is from an ATC250R. My question is - do I have an ATC250R motor or a TRX250R motor. The model # on the motor is TBO6E. What are your engine model numbers on your ATC250R's?
I know that there is not much difference, but there is some. Much appreciated.
