I just got it out of storage. Put in new gas, plug, sprayed gumout into carb. Has no air filter. Got it started. It will not idle except too fast. Runs roughly. The silencer/muffler is blown out. It is real loud. Each time I blip the gas and release it backfires 2-3 times. Is the blown out pipe causing the backfire? Also, this was used trike. I moved the throttle slide locator from the leanest position #1 to #3 position (mid-range) I also messed with the pilot screw. Right now it is pretty well screwed up, but I wonder if my pipe is not causing most of the problem. Anyone have suggestion?

I had this same prob. under your gas tank is you carb and on top of the carb is the throttle cabble unscrew it and there will be a pin in it. first you need to get the cable out the the steel piece then take a screw driver in it and pull out the u shaped metal piece that holds the pin in. The set the setting to the highest postion and the reinsert. The cable is hard to get back in you just have to keep turning it till it slides all the way back in then retighten and the adjust rich lean till it runs the fastest and then turn down the idle screw it should help your prob it did mine
