rebuilding engine

Default rebuilding engine

I'm going to yamaha to get some prices on parts i need a list of what parts i need to buy to rebuild the engine,so far heres what i thought of

Rings
Piston
Gaskets
Valve seals(not sure if valves should be replace for a rebuild or not?)
Timing chain


Feel free to add to this list of what i should get for my rebuild i need to know asap,thanks Rob

While you have it apart I would suggest a carb rebuild kit (aprox. $28) , Throw a new plug at it ( $3), And also check if your gasket kit comes with any of the "seals", the one I bought did not. I would visually check your valves, if they look good just lap them in and you should be good to go.

Well i just called yamaha and a complete topend rebuild kit is gonna cost me $172.70+tax sounds resonable to me..

Default rebuilding engine

Have you had the cylender checked to see if it needs to be bored out. it cost me 50 bucks and made a big difference, in comprehsion and idled a lot better

I haven't got the trike torn down yet i'm gonna ride it for a few weeks first,i'm having to much fun right now to tear it apart.
